In
March, 2005, the Panama government passed an executive
order requiring that each tobacco product package contain
a warning occupying one of the principal display surfaces,
as well as additional information on the side of the
package.
In
2008, the government amended the law to require 50% of
health warning messages on each principal display space,
instead of 100% on only one side.
