Previous warning development

Iran's parliament passed a law requiring picture based health warning messages on July 9, 2006.

The President of Iran approved the law and picture based warnings on May 29, 2008.  The warnings, along with an Executive order, were sent to Iran's tobacco monopoly, the Iranian Tobacco Company, on  7 July 2008. The Company was supposed to have picture warnings on packages by January 20, 2009.
